The 2009 Migration is in the bag!
This Years migration once again went off without a hitch. Thanks to Mark for his stellar organizational skills, along with some help from that mighty machine (the computer) the teams, pairings and scoring reports went smoothly. Congratulations goes out to Mike Sheafer on his victory, who's index will be SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED for next years tournament. In fact there was rumblings of Mike having to keep an official Flusterclucks GHIN for next year? Fun seemed to be had by all including Mike's father Jim who seemed to not get anything accept for the new "Titleist Tattoo" on his right leg. No one new Dwayne could so skillfully deliver body art from 100 yards across the fairway. Surprising was Jim not giving Dwayne a tip, monetary or just plain swing tip! Oh yes, and let us not forget the squeal that Shane let out as he bailed out of the cart leaving his cart partner to perish at the hands of Dwayne. "EEEAAAHHK! Watch out JIM!" was exclaimed as I recall and as it should have been, playfully re-enacted that evening over foamies! This year as always the cards seemed to favor a few and punish many and the cries of "L L L L, C C C, R R R" could be heard resonating across the fields only to be followed by many letting out an sigh of disgust and only a few, O.K. one, Fulmer with his cheers of jubilation as he cleaned up the glass with dollar bills. The courses were great as were some of there finer associates with skills behind the wheel. The golf however was, well, lets just say we left a few on the course. All in all the weekend was a great success and look forward to seeing every next year and at the Peasant!
The Winter Migration Claims it's First Victim! This past March many of you were invited to attend the 1st Annual Winter Migration and it looks like a good time was had by all. That is until Don decided to take a swan dive onto the foyer from the stairs. No-one is quite sure when he decided to live out his fantasy of being an Olympic diver, however from all accounts, Greg Louganis has nothing on our friend, in fact it was reported that all of the judges scored him a 9.0. Apparently just a little sloppy on the landing. In all seriousness we all wish Don a speedy and full recovery so he may join us in June for the 2009 Migration. At last report, he is doing well except for the headaches. As for the Foyer, not so sure?
The 2009 Northern Ohio Golf Season... The Official start to the 2009 NOGA golf season is April 1, 2009 and continues until October 31, 2009. We are currently updating all of the records for the new season. Your GHIN memberships need to be renewed and our updated computers will make this much easier and effective again this year. The cost for this service is $13.00 and will include an official USGA handicap, access to the GHIN posting service, monthly revisions (see Handicap Information ), periodic mailings and full access to our web services. Most will have the opportunity to participate in our annual tournaments and invitational's and all will have access to all other members in the club. Contact Dougs@flusterclucks.com for more information about joining our club.
A new and exciting addition! This year the GHIN site has a completely new look and a great new addition. The egolfer addition is free for all GHIN members and all you need to do is sign up by creating a user name and password. Just log onto www.GHIN.com and in the panel to the right enter a unique username and password it will prompt you for al of the rest. When fully active the database will include all courses in the USGA database but for now it is limited to those that have been added. It is a great way for all of those "stat-a-holics" to track their game throughout the year. We do not subscribe to the eclubhouse feature of the GHIN therefore some of the links are not applicable. If you have any questions just drop me a note at Dougs@flusterclucks.com . egolfer is an online dashboard designed to assist golfers in organizing their golf network through the use of widgets. This dashboard is available to all golfers using the GHIN Service, regardless if they belong to a club that uses eclubhouse or not! The myGame dashboard has several views with a selected primary focus on scores or scoring statistics. Additionally, widgets will supplement the primary focus view with information relevant and personalized for the golfer. The golfer can also select an area of interest through the use of a Zip Code setting, which will then display news, events or weather applicable to the chosen area.
